April 4, 2013: Epitome of stupidity on the part of the PUC. They actually think that it's MORE IMPORTANT that those who agree to the harmful smart meters WARRANT FULL NOTIFICATION PRIOR to installation, then those who are on the opt out. The neuron deficient PUC seems to think that your electronics know the difference when NVE switches out the meters. Unless you SPECIFICALLY DEMANDED notification the day before, you are being PENALIZED by NVE showing up, most likely when you are at work and your equipment will suffer a power surge. Nor is NVE even knocking on doors which they FEIGNED to the PUC they would do.

March 5, 2013: Classic examples of DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO! On October 12, 2012, there was a stream of water emanating from the ceiling, in the main public meeting room, even Chairwoman Burtenshaw was caught stating "This has happened before"! On November 27, 2012 and January 9, 2013, there were obvious water stains in the PUC overflow room. Ironically between January 9, 2013 and January 30, 2013, the PUC FINALLY decided to address the ceiling tiles. Then on March 1, 2013, they had the audacity to promote "Fix a Leak Week". Jan Cohen, General Counsel for the PUC, on January 9, 2013, received emails regarding water damage and poor IAQ in their office. One has to SERIOUSLY wonder was PROPER REMEDIATION done or did they just REPLACE the ceiling tile in question? What about the stream of water that poured out of the ceiling in their main meeting room, that the PUC ADMITTED HAPPENED BEFORE, was that addressed?

December 18, 2012: As of 9:18 a.m., the public still isn't given access to the response. We have obtained a copy of NVE's Response and also their Stip with the BCP. Almost 24 HOURS AFTER the PUC received the stip they decided to make it public! BUT EIGHTEEN MINUTES AFTER THE RESPONSE WAS FILED IT WAS WRITTEN UP IN THE RJ! 

RUMOR has it that PUC Staff is not going to agree to the Stip, we will keep monitoring the situation. They have until December 26th to file a response. Activism will be exponentially elevated if they don't agree to the Stip!!

December 17, 2012: PUC withholding FILED public pleadings!  NVE filed a pleading regarding analog meters and the PUC WITHHELD posting the FILED DOCUMENT as of 10:12 pm PST. Even the local newspaper RJ at 3:36 pm posted the story on the filing. NV Energy files with PUC regarding opt out for smart meters By Jennifer Robison  LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL  Posted: Dec. 17, 2012 | 3:36 p.m. The PUC has NO EXCUSE to withhold this filing, as they do NOT notify those on the notification list. The very demographic they are suppose to protect are AGAIN left out in the dark. Apparently, the media is a higher priority than what they are PAID to DO!

November 30, 2012, NVE filed Response to BCP Motion, in a shocking revelation, they AGREED with the stay! One has to suspect that they are planning to try and sink the Petition for Reconsideration. Their ULTERIOR motive was disclosed with this statement " NV Energy believes that a post-hearing motion asking the Commission to consider the use of an analog meter as the non-standard meter faces significant obstacles." Which means they are going to keep LYING about the analogs like they have since December 6, 2011 to the PUC! Are they planning on 'giving Christmas presents' to the Commission as a hint they want MORE FAVORITISM?  Only time will tell. We are prepared for the next phase of the war against smart meters and will take no prisoners!

In a surprise move Commissioner Wagner brings up that analogs have not really been given enough consideration and the same concern was expressed by Chair Burtenshaw. Of course, Commissioner "I side with the utilities" Noble, remained quite and let loose at the following meeting on January 9, 2013.

November 27, 2012, NV PUC discussed and ACTUALLY posted their final order on the same day. The NV PUC tried to protect their positions with codicils prior to discussing the proposed draft order. In a further attempt for 'coverage' of their cushy positions, they 'discussed' allowing a Request for Reconsideration to be entertained, regarding analogs.

Knowing the false 'promises' that this Commission is known for, the 'illusion' of the reversal/adjustment to this final order is a purely and overt feeble attempt at ratepayer PACIFICATION!

JUST IN 11/26/12: A report just released by the Washington, DC-based National Institute for Science, Law & Public Policy is showing that the smart meters and grid:  "Dr. Schoechle, who has been engaged in development of electric utility meters, home automation systems, gateways, and energy management systems for over 25 years, and who sits on several international standards setting committees related to the smart grid, calls the smart meter being rolled out across the U.S. “a canard—a story or hoax based on specious claims about energy benefits…” .  Full report can be read here.

Based on the full report if the NV PUC votes to take away the analogs and charge for an alternative meter, they are most likely "attempting to obtain money under false pretenses". The meters are not providing what they claim and those who have the smart meters are not getting the 'touted' benefits. If the Commissioners get STUPID and go forward with the draft order as it currently stands, they need to be IMMEDIATELY REMOVED AND CHARGED WITH MALFEASANCE!

November 14, 2012: Another asinine action by the PUC. Commonsense (if there was any on the PUC), would have questioned WHY water customers in Pahrump, NV, have to send their payments all the WAY TO MAINE!

"Consumer Protection disputed the UICN cost estimates and added the company could install an electronic payment kiosk used by a number of utility companies like Southwest Gas and Cox Communications.

“These limitations leave the subset of the population that lacks a bank account or a credit/debit card in a vulnerable or disadvantaged position,” the bureau said.

The BCP added payment by mail and automatic draft were the only option that don’t involve additional transaction fees. They said mail sent to Maine could take up to a week and UICN hasn’t identified any options that provide immediate credit to an account without a fee."
